Piano Studio

Introduction

Learning to play piano has been a staple in education for centuries! Adults and youth are both capable learners, beginning students through advanced. All students are taught from a classical perspective, learning to read music and interpret it with feeling, intention, and detail.

Background

Sarah has a Bachelor degree in Piano Performance from Bob Jones University in South Carolina, and a Master of Music degree from the University of Washington. She has been teaching piano for over a decade. Some graduates of her studio have moved on to study music at the college level. Sarah specializes in teaching children, and currently holds private studios in Seattle, Kingston, and Kent, WA.

Voice Studio

Introduction

Lessons are taught from a classical technique, founded in the Old Italian School mixed with fresh, modern perspectives and accurate science. Explore breath control, clear vowels, polished tone, seemless legato, and healthy singing in all styles of music! Repertoire (song selection) will include selections in Italian, French, German, and English, even Latin!

Background

Jonathan has a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and Pedagogy (that is, teaching in a studio) from Lawrence University. He has also studied in the Master's program at the University of Washington, performed with nearly every opera house in the region, and has been teaching since 2003.
