Jonathan's second mainstage role at Seattle Opera is as the 2nd Armed Man in The Magic Flute. He has had the pleasure of working with several of the other singers in the cast, though, so this will be a show that is not to be missed!

La Bohème with Bellevue Opera

Meydenbauer Center, Bellevue, WA

 

Jonathan performs the role of Colline a second time in a Bellevue Opera production of La Bohème. Colline is one of four semi-bachelor/artist bohemians living together in a sparse parisian apartment. He is the poet of the bunch, and sings a familiar "Coat Aria" near the end of the opera. You may also recognize the story: the musical Rent is a modern adaptation of this famous opera.

Lakmé with Puget Sound Concert Opera

Performances in Bellevue, Seattle, and Friday Harbor

 

Jonathan performs the role of Nilakantha in Lakmé, an opera in French by Leo Délibes. It will be performed in concert in a handful of venues around the area. Lakmé is best known for it's "Flower duet", though the role Jonathan sings is that of the Brahmin priest.

Sarah (with possible guest appearance of Jonathan) presents a recital of music at the Women's University Club. The program will include selections from the middle of the 19th Century, and Sarah will be wearing her authentic 1860 reproduction ballgown.

Apprentice Artist with Des Moines Metro Opera

Des Moines, IA

 

As an Apprentice, Jonathan will be performing in the program at Des Moines Metro Opera. Highlights of the program include the title role in the one-act opera, Markheim, by Carlisle Floyd, who will be in attendence for the performance. Markheim will be performed on July 10th in Des Moines.

In possibly the largest role Verdi ever wrote for a bass, Jonathan sings King Philip II of Spain. The opera will be performed in the four-act Italian version with English supertitles.
